- Our restaurant, Landry's Seafood Inn on I-10 in Henderson, Louisiana was founded in 1978. Since we were directly on the interstate,, our customers were from all over the country and it was not uncommon to be asked what a Cajun was and where they came from.
George Rodrigue occupied a studio we built for him adjacent to our restaurant. . We shared many stories with Rodrigue about our heritage, and in the late '80s, we decided that our story could be told through art and asked George if he would tell our story by points and time in our history depicted thru his paintings.
George Rodrigue painted 25 oil paintings which vividly told the story of our ancestors struggle for survival after being forced out of their home.in 1755 by the British. These paintings were started in the ate 80's and completed in the early 90's.
We decided to publish limited edition art prints with Rodrigue on the 25 paintings lovingly referred to as Saga of the Cajuns - the Landry Collection. We donated 15 of these 25 paintings to the Acadian Village in Lafayette in 1994 and today they travel to various Louisiana art galleries and museums.
We are happy you are viewing our web site. All of the prints were published between 1992 and 1994 and have been in our possession and carefully stored. These are not resale prints.
Our series includes fine lithograph art prints available signed, artist proofs, or numbered limited editions
